Mexico City is one of the largest cities in the world, with close to 15 million people. Being here I seem a little short of breath, because of the altitude or the smog or my asthma, or most probably a combination of all three. The city is quite congested with cars, people, and buildings.
We started the day doing a Mexican television program called In-D TV. We played 5 songs at the Poliforum, which is a cavernous oval shaped room. The entire room is painted from top to bottom. It is the largest mural in Mexico.
Tonight we played the Palacio de los Deportes, which looks like an armadillo. Before the show I got to walk around outside. The Mexican fans are warm and friendly, and they have really cool merchandise.
The show itself was simply astounding. The crowd was absolutely off the chain. I would have to say that it is one of my top 3 favorite Morrissey gigs ever, and probably Number One. If Morrissey ever plays Mexico City again, all I can say is don't miss it.
mexico is such a lovely and romantic place. i'm glad you enjoyed yourself.

All I can say with my poor level of English is that I´m very happy that moz have in the band a musician like you; your keyboards have completed in a wonderful way the band, I was in fuengirola in 2004 and I enjoyed the gig too much.
Sadly, for familiar problems I couldn´t go Benicassim.
Please, come back to Spain soon!

Please tell us there will be more dates in 2007 for the US (West Coast), we wait with open arms for the MOZ crew~

Hi Michael:
I flew all the way from the border to see the show, I live in Ciudad Juarez Mexico.
Loved the show!! it was amazing.
Do you play often the national front disco? I love the song but with all the BS the press gave Mozz with the song I thought he didn't play it live.
I was glad I had the chance to hear it live.
This was my second morrissey show, last time was 3 years ago in a little club in El Paso tx it was also great.
Keep it up
Best Regards
Arturo

Dear Mikey,
You are awesome. I hope you could do a live chat, or Q & A, so that we could submit questions to you for you to answer. You are a man of all parts...it seems like there isn't any instrument you can't play. Perhaps, someday you could visit us at the Moz-Solo chat. I know that Reggie Pepper is a Troll but don't let that stop you!!

Mikey,
Really like what you've brought to the band -- both the classics and the new material. And congrats on writing a Morrissey album closer with "At Last I Am Born." What's the story behind that track? It reminds me of a musical number or something Jobriath would've done.
Waiting patiently in Japan...

Hello there Michael, this is Andres from Monterrey, Mexico. You'll be playing tomorrow (Sat,Nov 18)in our city. I just can say that I've been looking forward to seeing Morrissey since I discovered his music back in 1985. Since then I've behind his music . I hope this be the beginning of his gigs in Monterrey because I´d love to see him around more often. I first saw you playing for Moz in Who put the M video. Your work there is just excellent. I also admire Gary Day's work, he is just great. I love playing bass guitar. Please tell Morrissey we'll die for any of his Bona Drag tracks and Your Arsenal. Just like November spawned.. or The last of the famous intl playboys, Suedehead, of course, and National Front Disco. Thank you and congrats to all of you. Andres.

Great blog Michael! Sadly it looks to turn into a Morrissey setlist request page but i guess Ray Charles could have seen that coming. I never knew you worked with Macy Gray! That is very cool. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the "walking around the block and breast feeding" line =)
Keep up the great work,

Hey Michael,
Glad you are well and enjoying your work with Mozz.
I see that you have worked with Macy Gray - now mate - any chance you can get Mozz and her together?? I think their voices would be very special. May I nominate a duet of Hurt So Good by Susan Cadogan?? You know it makes sense ...
God Bless

Bueh... sentimos que nuestra hermosa México City no sea la más saludable. En eso andamos...
Pero no cabe duda acá se les quiere, y el público citadino espera haber si después de estar de frente con la contaminación quieren venir de nuevo.
