On July 11, we played at the Montreux Jazz Festival with the Scottish band Sons & Daughters opening. The backdrop is gorgeous, beautiful snow-capped alpine mountains hovering over Lac Leman, which is a refreshing cool escape from the Swiss summer heat.
We played in the Miles Davis Hall and Miles is one of the names commonly associated with Montreux. But the festival has become a celebration of all different styles of music, not just jazz. The picture is a statue of Freddie Mercury, one of Montreux's most famous residents. You can't get less jazz than that.
